The garden will be built around raised beds, planned at approximately 80 cm high.

This height makes the garden easier to maintain, reduces bending, improves access, and allows better control of soil structure and fertility. It also gives the garden a strong visual presence and helps organize the growing space into clear, practical sections.

The beds may be arranged in the form of a meaningful word, symbol, or pattern, creating a garden that is not only productive but also artistic. From above, the Kitchen Garden could become one of the most recognizable visual features of Three Sisters Farm.

This design also opens the door for collaboration. Supporters, sponsors, and partners may help shape or fund individual garden sections, becoming part of the visual and productive identity of the farm.

The Kitchen Garden will be directly connected to our future outdoor kitchen and terrace.

This connection follows permaculture design principles: placing food production close to the place where food is prepared, shared, and enjoyed. Fresh herbs, salads, vegetables, and edible flowers can move directly from garden to kitchen.

The garden will support cooking classes, tastings, farm meals, workshops, and future “pick-your-own” experiences where guests can choose ingredients and create their own salads or seasonal dishes.

In this way, the Kitchen Garden becomes more than a growing area. It becomes an interactive farm-to-table experience.

A special part of the Kitchen Garden will be dedicated to hugelkultur.

Hugelkultur is a growing method that uses wood, branches, organic material, compost, and soil to create fertile raised growing areas. Over time, the buried wood breaks down, stores moisture, feeds soil life, and supports plant growth.

The planned hugelkultur educational trail will allow visitors, volunteers, and children to learn how organic material can become fertility and how gardens can be built in a way that supports natural cycles.

This part of the garden will connect closely with the Compost Zone and Greenhouse Tunnels, creating a visible cycle of soil, plants, food, and regeneration.

The Kitchen Garden will help us grow a wide range of seasonal crops, including:

The Kitchen Garden will be a natural classroom.

Visitors will be able to learn about raised beds, compost, hugelkultur, companion planting, seasonal growing, water-conscious gardening, soil health, and the connection between food and landscape.

For children and families, it will be a place to discover that food does not begin in a shop, but in the soil.

For volunteers and workshop participants, it will offer hands-on learning and practical experience in building and maintaining a productive garden.
